Safeguarding Policy
Introduction:
Dressage Online is committed to giving you a safe online experience.
We follow the British Equestrian Foundation safeguarding policies for children and young people; and adults at risk.
More details can be found here https://www.britishequestrian.org.uk/getInvolved/safeguarding/what-is-safeguarding.

Things for you to consider when creating and sharing recordings:
-
Consider which platform to share the recording on, since free platforms such as YouTube do not allow you to restrict the audience.
-
Familiarise yourself with the privacy settings and know how to report any offensive or abusive content
-
All recordings should be shared by a responsible adult rather than the child or young person.
-
Record in a neutral area where nothing personal or inappropriate can be seen or heard in the background.

Accepting test entries for riders who are children, young people or adults at risk:
We will accept test entries for riders who are children, young people or adults at risk where those entries are made by a responsible adult. Confirmation of this will be requested during the class entry process.

Contacting riders who are children, young people or adults at risk:
All communications, with the exception below, will be made using the contact details of the responsible adult who submitted the test entry.
The sole exception to this is the posting of results and any rosettes or prizes.

Acting on a concern about a child, young person or adult at risk:
Where any member of the Dressage Online team – employee, volunteer or judge – has a concern:
-
about the welfare of a child, young person or adult at risk or the behaviour of an adult towards a child, young person or adult at risk, we will refer it to the appropriate official body for action. In the UK this is our local Social Services or Adult Social Care.
-
that someone may be behaving inappropriately or seeking to groom a child in an online environment, then we will use the CEOP reporting button to report directly to the National Crime Agency
